I really hope this goes well. Last time I went to Commissioner Court, I felt that the commissioners did not want to hear anything I had to say. Commissioner Garcia admitted in a follow up letter to me that Parkland did in fact lose my medical record from Colorado and that she had confidence in their senior leadership that they would prevent any other occurrence going forward. Although I appreciated her optimism, I do not believe it to be truthful! Parkland was fined $1 million in August of 2012 for violations from A to Z and only made it to December of the same year before they defaulted on their corrective action plan, where an additional $10,000 fine was imposed by the Texas State Dept of Health. In August of 2012, I made discovery that my medical record was lost when Parkland admitted to it. It took over ONE YEAR of writing emails, making phone calls and filing formal complaints before they admitted my medical record was gone. It's truly sad that they think this is acceptable!
