According to the figure reported on April 23, 2013 at Dallas County Commissioner Court, Dallas received $26 million in grants/tax payer money from federal programs. Based upon a civil lawsuit filed in county court in January 2012 against Parkland, UT Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas and several of their (yet to be named physicians), both the Texas State Dept of Health AND the US Dept of Health & Human Svcs. concluded that both facilities are so grossly negligent and deficient that they pose a serious and immediate threat to the citizens of Dallas. Therefore, they should no longer be permitted to treat Medicaid/Medicare patients again. Dr. Elba Garcia, Dallas County Commissioner stated in a letter to me that she believes in Parkland's senior leadership to prevent any further occurrences. How many people does Parkland and UT Southwestern have to HARM before someone does something? Commissioner Garcia either needs to oust Parkland's VPs she appoints or resign as commissioner!
