It is the intention of Leith Central Community Council at its meeting of 19 September 2016 to discuss whether it wishes to call upon the City of Edinburgh Council to introduce controlled parking to the whole of Leith.

In this case, the whole of Leith was clarified as being Leith Ward 13 & Leith Walk Ward 12, the same area as Leith Neighbourhood Partnership.  A map can be viewed here.

Are you supportive of Leith Central Community Council calling upon the City of Edinburgh Council to introduce controlled parking to the whole of Leith? If you are NOT, sign this petition to demonstrate you would not support such a plan.

The more people who indicate their support, or otherwise will provide an indication of community support, or otherwise, for the introduction of controlled parking across Leith.

Controlled parking is a system of pay & display ticket parking areas, residents & visitors parking permits and some visitor parking areas.  There may be provision for loading spaces.  Enforcement is a matter for the local authority, it is currently contracted to a private company.

This is not an official petition by either the Leith Central Community Council or the City of Edinburgh Council, although responses & notifications go to both parties.

This petition has been established, along with a counter petition to demonstrate community support for the introduction of controlled parking.
