Please sign my petition so the cruel people will get a heavy sentence.
A dog found tortured in Texas earlier this week is recovering from her injuries, and authorities are offering a $35,000 reward for information leading to an arrest in what the Dallas Morning News described as "one of the worst cases of animal cruelty ever reported in the county."
The pug mix—who's been nicknamed Hope by her rescuers—was found Sunday near Weatherford, Texas, dehydrated, with her mouth sealed shut with electrical tape, and five large cuts that took more than 100 stitches to close.
Hope's story, coming the same week as a dog was put to sleep in Northern Ireland for looking like a pit bull, has garnered worldwide media attention. Parker County Sheriff Larry Fowler said his office has received calls from as far away as the Netherlands from people looking to adopt her and contribute to the bounty.
Veterinarians at Bowie Drive Animal Hospital say that Hope, who is estimated to be between 3 and 4 years old, will make a full recovery, though she may need part of her tongue removed. Her mouth had been taped shut with her tongue sticking out, and it was swollen so much she couldn't eat or drink.
"Hope is doing excellent," Rhonda Sears, a veterinary technician at the hospital, told Houston's KHOU-TV. "She just doesn't have a mean bone in her body—the swelling is going down in her muzzle, and there is no doubt in my mind that she'll survive."
"She knows how to sit when you tell her to sit," Sears added. "She's known love. She knows how to be loved.
If we all get together and show that animals mean something, a lot to many, if not most of us, then maybe people will think twice before abusing an animal. If we have stiffer sentences, harsher punishments, then maybe we will see less of this horrible and heartbreaking thing happen to our beloved pets, friends. They have no voice. We are their voice. Please, please sign this petition. If we stand up for them, it will show how much they mean to us. We need to start somewhere. You are helping a great deal by starting here, signing for Hope. Thank you so much. God Bless. :(

I've just signed the following petition addressed to: Make The Person Who Torchered 'Hope' To Be Procecuted To The FULLEST Extent!.
I signed this petition on Hope's behalf because she has no voice. I feel strongly about animal abuse and want it to end. Hope's story broke our hearts. Please make the ones responsibly for this horrific crime pay the maximum allowed by the law. She didn't deserve this. No animal deserves this.
If we all get together and show that animals mean a lot to many, if not most of us, then maybe some people will think twice before abusing an animal. If we have stiffer sentences, harsher punishments, then maybe we will see less of this horrible and heartbreaking thing happen to our beloved pets, and little friends. They have no voice. We are their voice. We are standing up for them. They are innocent, harmless creatures we are so lucky and blessed to have around us, making our lives happier. Please make these monsters who, if they could do this to a helpless, defenseless tiny dog, just think what they are capable of doing next...and they will if we allow them to get a simple tap on the wrist, but some real hard time. Please give these monsters the maximum sentence allowed. Thank you very much for your time and consideration in this matter.
Sincerely and Respectfully,
