Stop wrapping herbs, vegetables, fruit and household items in plastic and styrofoam.

Hong Kong is facing a waste crisis. Our landfill sites are almost full, the government has just funded a massive (unnecessary) incinerator, and we are about to start having to pay for our trash. We need to stop creating so much rubbish and start thinking about how our actions affect both the health of our environment and the health of our fellow citizens. As well as being single-use (read: 'massively wasteful'), plastic wrapping leaks harmful chemicals into our food and bodies, and into the environment once it reaches landfill or the ocean / soil. Consumers are beginning to make a difference by way of BYOB (Bring Your Own Bags), but I call on large supermarket chains in Hong Kong to take a responsible, hard-hitting, future-focussed stand and stop their use of unnecessary plastics and packaging. This packaging is NOT convenient, it is wasteful. Help us bring attention to this problem and support the movement away from plastic wrapping, by asking HK's major supermarkets owners to make this change now.
