Parents Who Read at Home Today Build the Leaders of Tomorrow
The Issue
Growing up, I saw how early reading struggles quietly shape a child’s confidence, behavior, and future. These children didn’t lack ability—they lacked consistent support to build strong reading habits. Too often, kids disengage not because they can’t learn, but because they were never given the chance to unlock their potential through reading.
That’s why I believe literacy must begin at home. I’m asking parents and caregivers to commit to reading with their children for at least 15 minutes, 3 to 5 days a week. This simple habit builds literacy, strengthens confidence, and enriches family connection.
By acting on this small but powerful commitment, we can set the foundation for a better future—starting in our homes. Please join me in supporting literacy and helping create brighter opportunities for our children by signing this petition.
