The Massachusetts Department of Public Health has just announced that the influenza vaccine will be mandatory for all children over the age of six months old who will be physically attending school this year. This includes daycares and pre-schools, K-12, and colleges and universities. Parents will have until the end of 2020 to have their child(ren) vaccinated. 

The citizens of Massachusetts have the option to keep their children home for remote learning if they choose to do so, but this is not a realistic option for many parents who have to work. In addition, as of right now, there are medical and religious exemptions. 

It is the responsibility of the MA DPH to inform the public, not mandate a vaccine. The US government is overstepping it's bounds. This is America, and as it's citizens, we are entitled to medical freedom and body autonomy. What will they mandate next? My body, my choice!
