I'm very worried about parents who don't have a choice this year in sending their children back to school physically. Some schools don't have a virtual option for parents, and some parents who do have that option still cannot choose virtual because they have no one to stay home with their children while they go to work. I'm proposing that it be mandatory for all schools in the U.S. to deliver a virtual option as well as a third option of packet-pickups for those parents who cannot choose the virtual option but don't want to be forced to send their children back to school face-to-face because of the current health and safety dangers and risks of the pandemic COVID-19. The packet-pickup would involve teachers creating packets of schoolwork and reading assignments to be made available for pickup at their school during school hours. For parents not available to do packet-pickup during school hours, there would also be an option to receive the packets via email attachment and print them off at their own discretion. This will give them the option to teach their children the curriculum at home during "off" hours or on scheduled days off.
