Balance the budget without unbalancing the schools !

April Update: The district gave more discretionary dollars to the schools to buy back the clerical positions. Now it is up to the school staff to be sure this happens for the 2014-2015 school year.

The positions are still .5 and need to be restored to 1.0 and paid out of CORE staffing. The work continues for the 2015-2016 school year - we need to be sure to have the classified staff represented on the Weighted Staffing Standards Committee.

The proposed cuts to the school clerical staff are unacceptable. The budgets for the 2014-2015 school year will be voted on soon (School Board meets on March 19!) - so the time for action is NOW. Student safety is at risk when we are short staffed.

Tell the district to go back to the table and re-do the figures!

The schools need to vote NO on their proposed budgets and send a message to the district that these cuts are unnecessary.

The clerical staff are paying the price for the mismanagement of funds at the central office.
