Another Major Planning Controversy – NB2M Cycleway Design. NEW NSW PARLIAMENT PETITION, PLEASE SIGN!

This petition calls for an independent review of the proposed Neutral Bay to Mosman Cycleway design. JUST 3 WEEKS TO SIGN HERE:
Like the 54–64 Barry Street development, the underlying concern is familiar: trying to squeeze too much into too little space, without properly assessing the consequences.
North Sydney Council's proposed cycleway design raises serious concerns:
Design standards: Residents have identified serious concerns about deviations from NSW design standards, including inadequate provision for pedestrian priority and highly constrained shared paths.
School safety: Proposed one-way road changes would redirect traffic towards a school zone, without an adequate assessment of the impacts. For a project promoted as improving children's journeys to school, how has this been overlooked?
Consultation: Fundamental objections to the proposed design remain unanswered. Instead, Council has reframed the debate around the virtues of cycling, rather than addressing legitimate concerns about the design itself. The consultation was about a specific DESIGN.
Cost: Council already anticipates project costs millions above the State's funding contribution. With unresolved design issues, what safeguards are in place against further overruns? The costly North Sydney Olympic Pool redevelopment provides a cautionary example.
This NSW Parliament petition calls for State intervention and an independent review before funding progresses.
If you share these concerns, please sign the petition today and share it widely. Any NSW resident can sign!
