District 25 School Board:

We are parents and students in your district who want a choice on masks in schools. 

The Illinois State Board of Education recently communicated to officials at public schools across the state that school districts have the power to make masks optional this fall. 

Please: Make masks optional this fall.

We have asked our little ones to carry a heavy burden for over a year, and it is time to make the right decision and leave the decision to mask or not mask up to parents and kids. 

Giving parents and kids a choice in this decision is compassionate – and, under ISBE’s new guidance, a decision that you are empowered to make for our kids.
