Giving parents the education on preventing child sexual abuse is much needed.  Parents need education on the warning signs of a sexually abused child, characteristics of a child molester, prevention techniques, and letting parents know that the typical child molester is not violent, he's not the sniveling man lurking behind the fence, watching the children play in the school yard! This child molester is the babysitter, it's the most loved uncle, it's the stepfather, it's the older sister, it's the grandpa, its the favorite neighbor down the street, its the family friend that's been coming over for years, etc etc etc! 30-40% of victims are abused by a family member.  Another 50% are abused by someone outside of the family, whom they know & trust! Approx 40% are abused by older or larger children whom they know! Therfore, only 10% are abused by strangers! People assume that ordinary people lead ordinary lives.  They mistakenly believe that his career, his education, his home, his family, his savings account-protect him from being a child molester.  It's imperative that parents realize that this ordinary man is the typical child molester! 95% of child molestation can be prevented! Now we have the knowledge to stop it!
