This year we want to start our school year on a positive note with masks being OPTIONAL in the OSD. Our school district is responsible for educating our children, and we as their parents and guardians, are responsible for their health and well being! Our children have been to camps, on vacation and living life mask free for the past few months. Having masks mandated for this upcoming school year, for teachers and students, will have a negative effect on education and teaching just as it did this past school year.
The average hospitalization rate for children ages 5-17 is less than 1%(cdc.gov). Our governor has stated that he has no intention to required masks in schools for the upcoming year. 
There is currently a big push from a loud group of individuals, who do not represent the voice of the majority, and who want to mandate masks in our district for this upcoming year. It’s time that we, as OSD stakeholders have a voice and demand a CHOICE. Please take a minute to sign this petition and make your voice count!
