We are very excited to announce the launch of the Community for Constitutional Reform at BCC (CCR@BCC)! Founding members have been drawn from a diverse collective of former executives, including Principals, and current and former staff, teachers and parents, representative of the BCC community since 2015.
We are now calling on the broader BCC community to make their voices heard and as supporters of this original petition we wanted to reach out to you first to give you a chance to take action through this new Association!
CCR@BCC is an officially registered ACT Association, with the aim of "seeking change to the powers and composition of the BCC Board and return the responsibility for governance of the school to a broad and representative membership." The Association operates in partnership with Adero Law, who bring their years of experience fighting for just causes to this case.
For more information check out the website - https://www.reformbcc.org/ - which outlines in full the aims of the organisation, including an overview of the key governance issues facing the school, such as their failure to report financials over the last three years.
Become an Association member via the form on the website and make your concerns about governance at BCC known! Please note that we take privacy very seriously and you have the opportunity to join the Association while keeping your personal details private.
Additionally, a reminder that tomorrow, Monday 27 March, the Administrative Appeals Tribunal will hear the appeal from BCC's Board who are fighting the ruling that they are an unfit body to govern BCC. To show your support turn up at 9:30am before the 10am hearings commence, which are scheduled to run for the whole week. More information can be found at: https://www.reformbcc.org/unfit-board
