As a result of the BCC Board's disregard for the rights of two children expelled from the school, as found by the ACT Human Rights Commission, changes to the ACT Education Act have now been brought forward for consideration by the ACT Legislative Assembly.

As a result of the BCC Board's actions, the freedom for independent schools across the Territory to manage their own affairs is being reigned in as the ACT government increases their powers and reach in response to what happened at BCC. The BCC Board continues to fight any efforts to hold them accountable for their actions and continues to deny parents and community any meaningful voice or consultative processes, spending thousands of dollars of school funds on legal bills fighting any attempts to challenge their actions or authority.
