In an article published today (16 November) in the Canberra Times, it has been reported that BCC management is again under investigation - this time by the ACT Children's Early Childhood Education and Care Assurance (CECA) regulatory authority.
Senior management at BCC have been instructed 'to attend an assessment of fitness and propriety following allegations that children were threatened and force-fed at its early learning centre [ELC] in Charnwood', according to reporting by the Canberra Times, based on documents received through a Freedom of Information request.
The allegations stem back to a reported incident in May 2019, following which the CECA authority issued BCC with a notice to show cause over the incident. The paper also reported that to date the BCC senior management has refused to submit to a directed 'fitness and propriety test', using lawyers to yet again argue that another case brought against them is 'without foundation'.
What is perhaps most disturbing of all, is that it would appear that at no stage have any parents of children enrolled at the Early Learning Centre ever been informed about the allegations.
