The purpose of this petition is to help save Principal  at Caroline G. Atkinson school in  Freeport, NY. Unfortunately, the 2019/2020 school year abruptly concluded in mid-March due to the global pandemic. Unbeknownst to the Atkinson family, just a few months later, we would be losing our beloved Principal .

Atkinson parents and students began this school year with a new principal, not really knowing what to expect. We were all quite nervous and hesitant. However, Principal  dove into her duties headfirst, easing our skepticism. Principal  has had an insurmountable positive impact, not only in our school system, but in our hearts. She made changes Atkinson desperately needed by creating an open forum for parents and students alike to voice concerns and make suggestions.

The reason for Freeport School District’s ouster of  as Atkinson’s principal is currently unclear and we are being provided no information at all. This is unacceptable! The students have already gone through so much this year. They will eventually return to school, only to find that the principal they grew to love and admire, will no longer be there. During Principal  short time at Atkinson, she won the love and respect of the entire Atkinson family. As parents, our minds were at ease knowing that she made every effort to foster an inclusive environment, to ensure our children succeeded in every aspect of school and life. We refuse to let her go without a fight!
