As a parent of a 6 yr old 1st grader, the virtual school semester is going to be a known challenge. There’s added stress as a parent, and I’m sure from educators to keep children motivated for 7hrs virtually. Throughout that 7hr day the children are offered a 30min lunch, and 5-10min brain breaks. I want this to be a successful transition for the children as well as educators, and the time in my opinion is a hindrance. I’m proposing we have the virtual school day shortened from 8-3p to 8-12p. Please spread the word! Virtual learning is not homeschool, however many parents/guardians/family members are standing in keeping the students on track and assisting with learning. Let’s support each other and shorten the day!
