Parent support for District 15 Principals call for a Delayed Opening

Parent support for District 15 Principals call for a Delayed Opening
The Issue
D15 principals wrote a letter (full link below) to the mayor, governor and DOE asking for a delayed in-person start for the following reasons:
- Start the year remote so staff can have proper training on new protocols.
- Allow option to phase in blended learning from Sept 21-Oct 18.
- Communicate supply shipments of PPE, cleaning supplies etc to schools.
- Ensure building councils meet with custodial engineers to verify signage, furniture placement, and cleaning schedules.
- Provide schools with ventilation reports.
- Respond to school exceptions immediately.
- Determine eligibility for reasonable accommodations.
- Develop protocol for assigning remote teachers.
We parents/guardians want our children to return to school too with the health and safety of the staff and children being guiding principles.

Sincerely,
Parents/guardians of public school children
