The Strutters and dance classes have no other option but to use a gym to dance. Most times the gyms are taken by other athletic organizations, especially when there are things such as basketball tournaments or other athletic events. The Strutters and the dance program need a larger dance room to better accommodate the growing size of the programs. The 2016-2017 Elk Strutters Dance Team has 51 members not including our directors. The locker room is not big enough as it only has 46 lockers and barely holds all of the Strutters' belongings. Currently none of Mrs. Owen's classes are able to dance in the dance room. When in a gym, if it is needed by an athletic organization they are often asked to leave or share the gym. More often than not both the Strutters and dance classes cannot use the gyms. While we have the upmost respect for the other organizations at our school, we would like to have a space of our own to practice with no interruptions or conflicts. Other organizations that can benefit from this opportunity are the Cheer Team that has 30 members and the Color Guard which has 19 members.
