After positive Covid case results the RIIL cancelled the D1 championship games for hockey in Rhode Island instead of delaying the games. This is the second year in a row the Championship games have been cancelled due to covid. We feel the RIIL prematurely cancelled and should have extended the season instead of cancelling it so quickly. We understand they did this in the past but the situation with Covid has changed considerably over the past few months. We believe these student athletes should be given a chance to play and finish the season.  Instead of going by past precedent we should be creating a new precedent. Let them play!
