Tell Paramount to redesign Sonic the Hedgehog for the upcoming movie.
The Issue
Problem
Ever since the poster and short trailer for the upcoming movie of Sonic the Hedgehog was revealed on social media on December 10th, 2018, fans of the series responded to it very negatively, mainly because of the new design from the silhouette alone looked nothing like source materials from the games, TV shows, and comics, among others. But they're not alone, as it's been found out that SEGA didn't approve well with the redesign either, as stated by executive producer Tom Miller:
"I don’t think SEGA was entirely happy with the eye decision, but these sorts of things you go, ‘It’s going to look weird if we don’t do this.’ But everything is a discussion, and that’s kind of the goal, which is to only change what’s necessary and stay true to the rest of it. He’s not going to feel like a Pixar character would because I don’t think that’s the right aesthetic to make it feel like part of our world."
Solution
All we want is for Paramount to redesign Sonic back into what he looks like from his video game counterpart, or at the very least have a mix blend of the SEGA Sonic art style with a dose of realism, similar to the designs of the movie Detective Pikachu that's gonna come out in 2019, the same year that the Sonic movie is coming out.
Personal story
I've been of fan of Sonic since 2003, played a lot of his games(both old and new), watched a lot of his cartoons, and listened to the music that are in his games. His series was the sole reason I draw in the first place and helped me gain some new friends when I moved to a new school. He and his friends comfort me when I was bullied and alone from my late childhood to early teen years, and for that, I stayed by his side, even during what people consider to be Sonic's dark ages(from 2005 - 2010, or 2005 - 2017, depending on who you ask).
Which is why I want to start this petition, because I couldn't just stand here and do nothing, expecting SEGA to do all of the work. People might call me a crazy, delusional autistic Sonic fanboy(or in this case, fangirl) for pursuing this, but I'll take the risk of being mocked if it means changing something for the better to our beloved Blue-Blur. #NotMySonic #SonicSezStop
