This "Nicktoons movie" has been in the buzz for the past while. It started in late August-early September last year when the Tracking Board announced the movie and their article got to the front page of Reddit. Since the new year, several other sites including Variety.com and Deadline.com have confirmed this movie. They say it will be like Who Framed Roger Rabbit?, except it will contain the 90's Nicktoons characters--Rugrats, Hey, Arnold!, The Angry Beavers, Doug, Ren & Stimpy, etc. They also say Jared Hess (Napoleon Dynamite, Nacho Libre) will direct it.

This movie would mean a lot to me as I love pretty much all of Nickelodeon's shows, new and old (yes, I don't hate Breadwinners. It's my opinion, don't judge me.) but the 90's were especially amazing! The Nicktoons premiering in 1991 was a monumental moment for Nickelodeon and these shows have filled the hearts of many kids, now adults. What with 90's nostalgia at its height right now, what with Fuller House, a spin-off of Full House being made, the Powerpuff Girls getting a reboot on Cartoon Network and even a rumored Magic School Bus reboot, this Nicktoons movie will be just the icing on the cake!

Nickelodeon/Paramount Pictures can take my money, I think it will be totally worth it! Seeing Arnold, the Rugrats, the Angry Beavers, Doug and more cross over in a giant movie is an excellent idea! There is so much potential here and there are so many awesome things they could do with this! I even have some ideas in mind!

Now, despite Joe Murray (the creator of Rocko's Modern Life) apparently saying the movie isn't happening on Facebook, and a lot of people down on this, saying something like "This will be terrible! Why can't they leave our childhoods alone?? This is just a cheap cash-in on nostalgia!" in my opinion, those people are being too assumptive. You'll never know what the movie will be like till you see it and I think with the right people, this can be a great movie! And although Joe Murray allegedly said it wasn't happening on Facebook, I don't know if he was being truthful or not, and I think that with enough people, we can get Nickelodeon and Paramount to greenlight this if it really isn't happening!

Now, for those of you who are down on this and think it will be bad, number one, stop being so assumptive. It could be great! You don't know what it will be like till you see it, and number two, that's okay. You don't have to sign my petition if you don't want to or if you think it will just be taking your money. As for me, I think this can be great and I am 100% for this! Bring back the original creators, most (since a couple of them are dead) of the original voice actors, some of the original writers and a good director and you've got yourself an incredible, nostalgic Nicktoons movie!

Just keep it in the 90's and don't have the characters on smartphones and tablets and don't force it to be adult. We all saw how the Ren & Stimpy Adult Party Cartoon went down, so don't make it too adult and don't have the characters swear. Maybe you could toss in an adult joke or two--I'm looking at the same viewing audience as Shrek considering a lot of kids are probably gonna see this with their parents--the people who watched these shows as kids. Do all that, and this could be a great movie!

I hope Nickelodeon/Paramount Pictures do this! I hope they listen and decide to make this movie!
