Whilst staying at the Paradise Lago Taurito we came across two caged parrots, one of which is a very large mccaw. They have been caged in the resort for 22years with no enrichment or escape from the climate. These birds probably won’t survive in the wild but need to be moved to a sanctuary that can fulfil their needs. They look deeply stressed and depressed, the loud entertainment stage that hosts shows every night is in very close proximity to the enclosure. They have to withstand poor living conditions mixed with constantly being stared at and people poking fingers through the cage. We tried to address the issue whilst we were out there but neither the hotel or water park would take responsibility for owning the birds. Please help these poor animals.
