From chef to celebrity to dangerous conspiracy  theorist Pete Evans’ devolution has been both swift and terrifying. Not content with spruiking questionable dietary practices his advice now focuses on our public health measures and best defences against the coronavirus pandemic, all while questioning the existence of the virus itself. 

Via his social media platforms his messaging not to socially distance, vaccinate, or wear masks has earned him a loyal army of like minded followers. Any who question him are abused or blocked making a rational discussion in defence of science impossible. 

While it is unlikely he while change his mind I believe as long as his dangerous rhetoric continues his influence must be limited however possible. Channel 7 has taken the first step removing him from our TV screens so now we implore his publisher to cease publishing any more of his cookbooks until he ceases promoting his dangerous conspiracy theories. If he won’t listen to scientific reason perhaps he’ll listen to his accountant. Lives are at stake
