Hello everyone, and thank you for everything you have been doing for the animals at Vivotecnia.  

We contacted the Comunidad de Madrid, the authority responsible for issuing licences and inspecting animal testing facilities in the Madrid region,  on 30th April asking them to answer key questions on the status of the animals. We asked for a response within one week. Sadly, we have received no reply to date.

Whilst there were early indications that the animals would be safely rehomed, this has not happened. The judge dealing with the Vivotecnia case has decided not to order the confiscation of the animals who are still in the facility. We are deeply disappointed by this and are appealing against the decision.

We continue to be hugely concerned for the animals still inside Vivotecnia. These animals must be safely and urgently rehomed.

We also asked the Comunidad de Madrid what plans it has to review how, as the responsible authority,  it could have permitted such inhumane and unlawful levels of suffering to take place and to ensure that this can never happen again on its watch. 

Please continue to speak out for these animals and all animals in laboratories everywhere by sharing the petition with your networks and spreading the message. We will not allow these animals to be forgotten. Thank you for being a friend to animals in laboratories.
