Pali High Teachers Deserve A Raise Following Devastating Palisades Fire Aftermath
The Issue
September 22, 2026
Dear Pali High Administration and Board,
We parents urge you to reach a swift and fair resolution to the ongoing negotiations with our teachers.
Your letter last week left many of us concerned that teachers are being asked to bear too much of the burden of Pali’s financial challenges. We understand that the school is facing difficult circumstances, but we do not believe those challenges should be resolved at the expense of the people at the heart of our children’s education.
Teachers are the backbone of Pali. Their salaries and benefits directly affect the school’s ability to attract and retain outstanding educators. Reducing their compensation will only make that more difficult.
We are particularly concerned that the school is unwilling to provide the COLA approved by the State of California. The state’s Hold Harmless funding was intended to help schools maintain operations during challenging financial circumstances. We believe every reasonable effort should be made to honor that COLA and reach a fair contract with our teachers.
No one benefits from the current situation—not our students, not our teachers, and not the administration. We urge the administration and Board to make these negotiations an immediate top priority and reach an agreement that provides our teachers with the raise they are seeking. Our teachers have waited long enough. It is time to resolve this and allow our entire Pali community to move forward.
Sincerely,
Concerned Pali High Parents and Pali Residents
