Reinstate Mikellah Davis Makepeace as Palafox Market Manager immediately!

Ms. Makepeace assumed the role as Palafox Market's Manager in early 2019. Ms. Makepeace has greatly improved the quality of Palafox Market for tourists, locals, and vendors alike. Ms. Makepeace's improvements have taken many forms, such as: on-site security, children storytime, utilization of space, setting up the online map, scavenger hunts, non-profit promotional/awareness events, deligating block captains, etc. These improvements equal higher annual sales for the majority of vendors, which in turn, is spent in our local economy. Not only has she made these improvements but she is also a delightful, ethical, hardworking, well-organized market manager and has made herself available to vendors at all hours of day and night and gone far above the duty and parameters of Palafox Market Manager. Ms. Makepeace's passion and concern for the well-being and continued improvement of our City is apparent in her dedication as Palafox Market Manager. Earlier this week, Ms. Makepeace was unexpectedly terminated as Palafox Market Manager. A week before Christmas, we might add. This egregious termination is allegedly due to Ms. Makepeace exceeded the number of annual "sick days" allotted by the Downtown Improvement Board (referred herein as "DIB"). Ms. Makepeace was quiet ill earlier this season and her minor child was recently diagnosed with the flu. Despite absentee notes from her and her child's physicians our ambitious leader was erroneously removed from her management position. Many of the vendors strongly disagree with the DIB's decision to terminate Mikellah Davis Makepeace, as such, we ask that she be reinstated immediately to continue her magnificent career as Palafox Market Manager.
