"A Catholic fourteen year old girl, Huma Younus, was abducted, forcefully converted to Islam and married off to her abductor. Sindh high court of Pakistan ruled that her marriage was valid as per the guidelines of the Sharia because she had her first period. This is a gross violation of human rights, and the fact that a high court of Pakistan would defend such an action on the basis of Sharia- a law that belongs to a religion Huma did Huma did not even belong to in the first place is unconscionable and horrifying beyond measure.
