Unblock YouTube

The Issue

YouTube has been blocked in Pakistan since September 17, 2012 in response to the film, "Innocence of Muslims," which was produced in the United States, and was being shown on YouTube. It has been 4 weeks since YouTube has been blocked, and there is no sign of it being unblocked anytime soon. We would like to petition the Government of Pakistan, specifically the Pakistani Ministry of Information, to please unblock YouTube. YouTube was blocked because it refused to take down "Innocence of Muslims" from its servers, a film which doesn't even warrant an international response. Whether or not people choose to watch a sacrilegious film is their choice. Many people around the world, including in Pakistan, use YouTube to watch religious videos, keep up with trends, watch TV commercials, TV dramas/serials, re-live an epic moment in sports, etc. and everyone does not deserve to be punished for the actions of a small few. I sincerely plead for you to sign this petition in the hopes that we can get YouTube unblocked for those of us who use YouTube for recreational and professional use. I also plead with the Pakistan Ministry of Information to hear our voices and take this petition into serious consideration.
