UPDATE - B & G CLUB - CITY COUNCIL - MIKE O'NIELL TO GIVE UPDATE TODAY TO CONFIRM IF WE ARE BEING ADDED TO AGENDA FOR 5/9
Thursday, May 5th 2022. 9:00AM
Good morning Mike,
Thank you for your email, and also for the additional conversation we had this morning.
We are all deeply concerned that your email indicates that you are REVERSING your position on supporting the parents and community of Pacifica.
To summarize: We are still pressing to be on 5/9 agenda, and this is to specifically give SUPPORT and lend your weight as a city council, to let the community know you are standing WITH us, and that you will put pressure on the B & G club to finally reveal their plans.
1) You stated you will contact me after 3pm today, to get permission to put us on the 5/9 agenda, and to put us FIRST on that agenda.
2) As we discussed, I will be informing social media with an update today - hopefully I will be able to indicate that you WILL make it happen, that we WILL be on the agenda for 5/9.
3) At the 5/9 meeting, we want the the city council to discuss dates for a STUDY SESSION with the authorities at B & G club, along with the City Council and community. We demand this study session, to finally know what the B &G; club LONG TERM plans are, no more secrets and closed door meetings!!!
4) Mike and the City Council - Respectfully...the children are waiting. Please help us hold the B & G accountable, and do NOT let their Board Members arrogantly close our clubhouses down. We need our B & G clubs NOW and for our future generations.
You have until 5pm Friday to change and update the agenda.
I look forward to hearing from you this afternoon,
Sincerely,
Erin Pickett

Erin et al: Thank you Erin for calling me yesterday.
Basically this will be a common City Council meeting starting at 7:00PM. There will be the Pledge of Allegiance, Land Declaration and Consent Calendar items. Those items usually take about a half hour and Oral Communications start around 7:30 PM. That time is approximate and could be later or earlier.
Oral Communications is when the time that you will be most interested in for your items.
At every meeting there is time set aside for anyone in the Community to speak to Council about any item they wish to speak about and talk to Council. The time limit is 3 minutes and the item you would be speaking on cannot be on the Agenda. If there are a lot of speakers the Mayor may shorten the time to 2 minutes. Given the items on our agenda Monday this might happen.
My understanding is that a member of the Boys and Girls Club board will be making a statement about the merger. That speaker will be limited to the 3 or 2 minute limit as will you and any other speakers from the Community.
You should note that the City Council cannot respond, comment or take any action on the Boys and Girls Club as the Boys and Girls Club is not on the agenda.
Just to be clear any comments made at the podium will not be responded to by Council. After Oral Communications ends the Council will proceed with the rest of the Agenda. I
f you have any other comments or questions please feel free to call or send email.
