Sonia Franco (@soniafrancoart) es una española racista. Hace 4 años Sonia Franco publico un video racista burlandose de mujeres negras. Aparentemente estara en nuestra isla el 12 de Octubre haciendo un espectaculo de Flamenco en la UPR Rio Piedras celebrando la colonizacion, el genocidio, y la esclavitud que empezo cristobal colón.

Este 12 de octubre, dia cual "conmemora" el dia en 1492 que el genocida y esclavizador cristobal colon llego al caribe, la UPR Rio Piedras tiene planificado un show de Flamenco por la española Sonia Franco en celebración de la colonización, el racismo, y la opresión de las comunidades Indigenas Taínas y Negras.

El 12 de octubre debe ser conmemorado como un dia de celebración a la resistencia y resilencia de las comunidades Indigenas Taínas y Afro-descendientes.

En una isla que todavia sufre bajo el colonialismo, no se le debe pagar o dar privilegios a una "artista" racista de españa! Se debe invitar a Taínos y Afro-descendientes de la isla de Boriken (conocida por su nombre colonial: Puerto Rico) para ofrecer un evento que respeta la comunidad y valora nuestra historia contra la colonización.

Con esta petición la comunidad pide que se cancele este evento y en su plazo se organize un evento en celebración a Taínos y Afro-descendientes. Decimos NO a la celebración de un socíopata como cristobal colon, NO al racismo, NO a la celebracion de la hispanidad y latinidad, NO a la opresión, y NO a la celebración de la colonización!

Sonia Franco (@soniafrancoart) is a racist spaniard. Four years ago she made a racist video making fun of black women’s bodies. The UPR Rio Piedras has a flamenco show planned for October 12th by Sonia Franco, in celebration of colonization, genocide, and slavery.

This October 12th, a day which “commemorates” the arrival of christopher columbus in the Caribbean in 1492, the UPR Rio Piedras will have a Flamenco show featuring the “artist” Sonia Franco in celebration of columbus, colonization, racism, and the oppression of Indigenous Taíno people and Afro-descendants.

October 12th should be commemorated as a day to celebrate the resistance and resilience of Indigenous Taíno people and Afro-descendant people. The institution should not be giving this racist woman a platform or even celebrating columbus at all. They should instead invite Taíno Indigenous and Afro-descendants from the island to perform and celebrate our cultures and survival. On an island which still battles colonialism, we are owed respect and much more.

With this petition we demand that Sonia Franco's show be cancelled! Give Taíno and Afro community members the platform. We say NO to the celebration of columbus, NO to the celebration of racism, NO to the celebration of hispanidad and latinidad, NO to the celebration of oppression, NO to the celebration of colonization!
