It has been a grueling two months. From the time I learnt about the corridor, and saw the videos of what Kartapur Sahib was going to be - I anticipated and feared Heritage destruction. I wrote about it in the newspapers, both in Pakistan and India and then I begged organizations to take the cause and run with it before too late; not to much success.

So I wrote to P.M. Imran Khan, the Evacuee Trust Property Board and others. No response. I kept knocking on doors. Then the American Sikh Council came onboard. They issues  PRs supporting the preservation ideas. I launched an online petition not knowing what was going on the ground exactly. We were repeatedly told that phase 1 was just the corridor and NO changes to the Gurdwara complex were being planned.

But I was not convinced. I knocked harder and Punjab Minister Navjot Singh Sidhu listened and wrote to P.M. Imran Khan. He too was not heard. Then you came along and in your loud voice, resonated with my ask. Supreme Sikh Coucil of Australia and Global Sikh Council from U.K. joined.

I thank you all. We now have 10,000 signatures and multiple organizations to back this petition and so they know I am not alone.

The next step starts now. I am already in touch with the the Evacuee Trust Property Board and they have acknowledged the receipt of my letter. They have also informed that construction is in full swings and that there are plans of making a sarovar in the complex. We have requested to STOP all destruction and new construction in the complex which unfortunately carries on as we speak. Please see the picture from this morning.

We will now take this petition and formally send it to the High Commissions in the countries where we can find representatives to stand with this cause. We will not stop until we are heard.
