The City of Ozark has been petitioned to by several private landowners to annex nearly 400 acres of agricultural land and they want it rezoned R1-d Residential. This allows for them to put up to 4-5 house per lot and there may be multiple family dwellings too.

If the annexation does not go through, it will be harder for them to put in such a huge development. We need this stopped.(it did go through on June1st 4-2 so we have to fight planning and zoning now.)

This spring is located just south of the property to be annexed, but the same developer owns this land too.

There is a prehistoric land bridge near the property, there are seven natural springs, there is a creek and a flood plan beautiful rolling hills and rich in history from Native Americans to Civil War.

We want this area protected. We don't want it disturbed. We love the beauty, the wildlife and the clean air. It should be kept as a nature preserve. Houses will cause runoff into the wetlands and push out the wildlife. Pesticides and herbicides will get into the water which will end up in the creeks and rivers.

The area is called Elk Valley, before they were hunted into extinction in the 1880's the are was filled with them. There are still lots of deer, wild turkeys, eagles, hawks, blue heron and all kinds of aquatic life.

The city first votes on annexation and then it goes to planning and zoning. Instead of showing a plan first and then deciding on if it is good enough to be annexed.

Sign this petition and tell them to preserve this land and resources saved. Tell them NO to annexation and development of this land.
