Breaking the stereotype of an 'Essex Girl' in the Oxford dictionary, Urban dictionary, Google dictionary, Cambridge dictionary, Collins dictionary and many more.

I want to change the 'meaning' of an Essex Girl in the dictionary to something more truthful rather then abusive.

The Oxford dictionary meaning of an 'Essex Girl' says "a name used especially in jokes to refer to a type of young woman who is not intelligent, dresses badly, talks in a loud and ugly way, and is very willing to have sex."

The Urban dictionary meaning of an 'Essex Girl' says "A (young) woman from the England county of Essex. In popular mythology an Essex girl is supposedly stupid and obsessed with sex."

The Cambridge dictionary meaning of an 'Essex Girl' says "an insulting word for a young woman who dresses and behaves in a way that attracts attention, and shows that she is not intelligent or stylish, thought of as typical of some people from the English county of Essex."

In 2016 Gemma Collins (former TOWIE cast member) presented herself on sky news to support all Essex Girls/Women by campaigning to change the definition in the dictionary.

These meanings are not just discriminating towards Essex Girls/Women but it is also untrue and hurtful. I am 23 years old living in Essex with a diploma in Animal Managament, full GCSE results of grade C+ and I am a care specialist for spinal cord injury. I am representing Essex in Miss International UK 2021 as a strong, confident, classy, intelligent women and I will stand and speak up for all woman offended by the untruful meaning in the dictionary.
