I am writing this petition with a heavy heart and a desperate plea for help. My dog, Bucee, who I have raised since he was just 4 months old, has been unjustly declared a vicious dog. This ruling threatens his life and it is unbearable to imagine him being put down because of it.

Bucee is not just an animal; he is family. He has grown up with us, shared our joys and sorrows, and has always been there to provide comfort in times of distress. It's heartbreaking that the law fails to see him as we do.

The current ruling can be changed from 'vicious' to 'dangerous', which would allow Bucee to be rehomed rather than euthanized. This change would give him a chance at a better life - one that he truly deserves.

It's important for us all to understand that labeling dogs as 'vicious' often stems from misunderstanding or misinterpretation of their behavior. According to the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), breed-specific legislation does not necessarily enhance public safety or prevent dog bites; instead, it often leads towards dogs being unfairly targeted based on their breed or appearance rather than their behavior (AVMA).

We are urging those in power - please reconsider your decision about Bucee's fate based on these facts and give him another chance at life.
