Council to reconsider welcome to country signs

Strathfield Council is reviewing the decision on welcome signs at the upcoming September 29th meeting. Members of the public are invited to express their support to maintain references to First Nations land by speaking to the council meeting.

The current motion to council asks that only the "Always was, always will be" portion to be removed and leaving "Wangle Country" in place.  The plan maintains the request to install new signage by 2028.

Whilst the new motion was signed by three councillors, it will only pass with the vote of four councillors.

The public forum is open at 6pm on September 29th, and you must register to speak by submitting the following form by midday on September 28th:
