I am requesting that Bill AB499 of the State of California allowing minor vaccination without parental consent, to be overturned. Not only is this bill a direct attack on parental rights, it is also an invasion of privacy. All people deserve freedom of choice, however, these are people's own kids, and a parent knows what is best for their own child, and nobody else.
AB499 allows minors as young as twelve to be vaccinated against STDS, specifically the HPV vaccine of Gardasil. The side effects of this vaccine are: Pain, swelling, and redness in the area of the injection, fever, headache, nausea, dizziness, vomiting, cough, toothache, joint pain, insomnia, among a variety of others. A parent deserves to know about a vaccination, so they will be ready for if their child experienced these side effects. CDC.GOV states that the following have occurred because of Gardasil: 68 death reports, blood clots, and muscle weakness of Guillain-Barré syndrome. You see, parents deserve the right to know (at minimum) their own child is being vaccinated, so they can make SURE the kid wants to go through with it with no peer-pressure, and AB499, prevents that, so I request, that this bill be overturned.
