Overturn Florida’s 7-OH Ban: Demand public hearings before any National Ban
The Issue
My name is Lauren Dutton, and I am writing on behalf of countless Americans whose lives have been deeply impacted by both the opioid epidemic and by misguided regulations that limit safer alternatives.
As you can see, you have a greater chance of getting struck dead by lightning than you would from taking 7oh and dieing The data doesn’t lie.
7-OH is not just another product—it has been a lifeline for many of us who sought a way out of the misery that comes with dependency on opioids like fentanyl, oxycodone, and even Suboxone. To take 7-OH away is to send a message to the American people that our pain, our recovery, and our futures are not valued.
History has shown us what happens when compassionate solutions are replaced by blanket bans: people are driven to black markets, organized crime grows, and communities suffer. Enforcing this ban will not make America healthier. It will only create more problems—privacy violations, wasted tax dollars incarcerating innocent people who are only seeking pain relief, and a deepening mistrust of a system that appears to value profits over people.
Americans are exhausted by a broken system where regulations shift every 100 miles, creating 50 different rules for one product. This patchwork of enforcement does not serve the public—it punishes those who are trying to find stability, dignity, and a safer path forward.
If we claim that health is the goal, then compassion must guide policy. People are more important than things, and the well-being of Americans must outweigh corporate interests. Reversing the ban on 7-OH is not only about access to relief—it is about restoring faith that our leaders care about those who have already lost so much in the opioid crisis.
For the sake of fairness, compassion, and public health, I urge you to overturn this ban and give Americans the freedom to choose a safer alternative.
Overturn ban and allow a fair transparent public hearing with clear objectives as to what the definition of safe is. Not just a couple men and women that could be unintentionally or intentionally making decisions on heresay and outdated stigmas
We want these open public hearing enforced on the state level and Nationally without any interference from stakeholders in the pharmaceutical industry.
Respectfully,
Lauren Dutton
