I am reaching out as a dedicated advocate for cats. The Village of Floral Park, NY has made it illegal to feed feral cats. The cats in question are not pets, but they are no less deserving of compassion, and this misguided government overreach needs to be challenged.

The imposition of law #7 deprives homeless cats of a vital source of food, further endangering their already compromised lives. Communities around the world are adopting TNR (Trap, Neuter, Return) programs as humane ways of controlling cat populations, instead of seeking to penalize well-meaning people who offer these animals some respite. It's time the Village of Floral Park did the same. The cats cannot ask for your help, but they need it. The law must be changed. We call on the leaders of the Incorporated Village of Floral Park to immediately overturn feral cat feeding law #7. Under compassionate, thoughtful guidance, we can find a constructive, humane solution to this situation.
