I have been directly affected by the mismanagement at Benton Animal Control. Twice I've been cited by them, each time witnessing a disturbing breach of rules and regulations that govern animal control in the state of Arkansas. In one instance, I found myself in court without the presence of all necessary witnesses. They failed to provide the evidence they claimed to have, which I requested during the court proceedings. To make matters worse, they released one of my dogs to another person without administering a rabies vaccine. Yet, they attempted to charge me for the dog not having the vaccines when he was over visiting one day as well as when I did visit my dogs after calling numerous times to request a visit and always getting denied I was able to one day through a other officer and both dogs were very dehydrated as well as several dogs they look like they were neglected and abused and mistreated and they had sores cuts scratches and smell horrible as well as the little cages they were kept in somewhere outside somewhere inside with it being 90 and above the dogs should be within air and not obtain to a small little so like they were there was urine and poop all in the cages they were not cleaned they were disgusting and flies were everywhere.

This isn't just my story; many Benton residents have faced similar issues due to the current management of our animal control services. It's time for a change. The employees currently managing Benton Animal Control have consistently violated state laws and failed to adhere to the basic rules and guidelines that should protect our community and pets. This misconduct puts both people and animals at risk, as well as undermines the public trust.

Arkansas state law mandates specific protocols for animal safety and handling, including vaccination requirements, proper citation procedures, and the lawful transfer of animals. Our current management's blatant disregard for these laws is unacceptable. For a safer community and the well-being of our animals, the City of Benton must reassess and reorganize the management structure of its Animal Control department.

The solution involves appointing new management committed to transparency, accountability, and adherence to Arkansas animal laws. We demand an immediate investigation into the grievances filed by residents and the restructuring of the department to ensure that it operates in compliance with state legislation.
