Apologize for selling anti-trans shirts and apparel

The Issue

OUT!Wear's website describes their products thusly:

OUT!wear™ is quality custom Pridewear and Accessories "WORN WITH PRIDE" to promote visibility, unity and self esteem amongst Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Trans-gendered persons. To promote a positive image within our community, whether bold or discreet.

Yet it's hard to "promote a positive image" when the company is selling tee-shirts and other products with anti-trans woman slogans-- in this case, a variation of the "womyn born womyn" slogan which has been used to bar trans women from attending events such as Michigan Womyn's Music Festival on the basis that trans women are "really men." This is not only disrespectful and dismissive, but also totally belies the company's stated intent. So far, the company's response has been severely lacking, as critical comments are being removed from their facebook page.

For a bit more information on the "WBW" issue and OUT!Wear's (lack of) response to date, I recommend this blog post. You can also post a review on their Facebook page, which unlike posts to their wall cannot be removed by the company.

EDIT: PFLAG has issued a statement condeming OUT!Wear's anti-trans WBW line and asking them to remove any products with the PFLAG logo from their shop.

EDIT 2: The "WBW" shirts are no longer available, as far as I can see. Still no comment from the company. Petition edited to ask for an apology and a promise not to carry anti-trans designs in the future.

Sean EvansPetition StarterI am a queer transman, and my focus tends to be on trans and queer issues. Overall, I'm also a strong feminist, and generally interested in equality between people regardless of who they are. I'm a sociologist at heart. I want to spend my life studying how humans interact, and how society shapes who they are. I see many causes as inherently interrelated, and tend not to categorize them as "women's issues"/"gay issues"/whatever. It frustrates me to no end when issues that affect a wide range of people are ascribed only to a single group. Domestic violence doesn't only affect women, discrimination based on gender expression/presentation doesn't only affect transpeople, etc., yet we tend to ignore those who are affected by prejudice, hatred, or violence if they don't fit our concept of a victim. This needs to change.
