What we have done so far: 

-We are in contact with a Texas House Representative who proposed a related bill in 2021 (HB 1166) and landed an appointment- YAY (will set it up with their office tomorrow). 

-We are in contact with one of the principal names in the study cited from 2021 (they will be publishing another study at the end of this month in a national veterinary publication that we will be referring to and citing as soon as we receive it). 

-We have reached hundreds more on Facebook rescue crossposting groups.  

-We have reached 95 dollars in promotions to keep this topic at the forefront of Change.org

-We have kept an eye on our email: OutlawPetRent@gmail.com (hearing crickets, but we are hopeful folks will be reaching out soon to get the help they need and lives to be saved). 

What is next (*Disclaimer* our priorities may change due to the changes going on and we do so strategically in order to help make progress so please DO contact us if you have any questions):

-We will meet with Texas House Rep to discuss strategy to help get bill passed

-We will create a monthly newsletter

-We will create a Dot Com page to document our progress. 

-We will establish a crisis line to receive inbound calls and texts of distressed owners. 

-We will find a nonprofit to be the face and benefactors of this movement or maybe start our own if the stars do align in that direction.

-Find doctors and mental health professionals that can be our allies so we may refer clients to get ESA letters or begin the process of finding a service animal.

-Find local resources to give clients options. 

-Make a growing database. 

-Contact the media once we are ready.
