So many animals are euthanized everyday in the united states for no reason other than the shelters do not want to be burdened by the cost of caring for the animals. These animals did not ask to be born into this world and for most, have had homes and families to care for them until surrendered. The animals are not at fault and deserve to live out they're lives just as human beings are allowed. 

Regardless of reason why human beings surrender the animals to these locations that partake in putting down the animals. We the people should be proactive and force the Federal Government to outlaw the practice of euthanasia nationwide. This in turn would force the States to comply with the Federal Regulations.

It is illegal to euthanize human beings in the US and in most other countries around the globe. So what is the difference in animals? They are living creatures with emotions and lives no lower or less significant than people. Instead of killing these animals, shelters should be set up to care for them until they are adopted or fostered no matter how long it takes. 

Funding should be made available to States to care for these animals and stricter guidlines created for responsability in ownership and surrendering of these pets. No animal should be euthanized that is non threatning to public or personal safety and non terminally ill. This practice is inhumane and needs to be made illegal.
