I am a proud American. I am a parent. I have two wonderful, autistic daughters who are the light of my life. However, I am enduring an internal struggle. The person currently holding the highest position in our land has cast a shadow over what I once heralded as a great country. This has ushered in a motif of embarrassment in lieu of the pride I used to feel.

Our leader, rather than guiding us toward a brighter future, is pushing agendas that detractor from our values, compromising our national pride. This disregard for our basic principles isn't just an abstract issue; it's deeply personal, affecting my family and me, and countless others who share similar stories.

This leader's actions and policies have shown a seemingly blatant neglect for the marginalized communities, including the autistic community to which my daughters belong. The disregard for protocols and rights protecting these individuals has been evident. This conduct is not only unacceptable but also quite disconcerting.

Now is the time to uphold our democratic values, nurture inclusion, and assert the need for leaders who respect our nation's diverse populace. Leaders who stand for all, not a partisan agenda. Leadership is earned, not granted blindly.
