To the Honorable Members of Darlington County Council:

We, the undersigned residents and supporters of the Clyde Road, Deer Run, and Hillcrest community, respectfully ask Darlington County Council to:

1. Act quickly to adopt the proposed amendments to the Renewable Energy Systems Ordinance to provide stronger protections for established residential communities.
2. Support a moratorium on utility-scale solar development while these protections are being considered and adopted.
3. Oppose the utility-scale solar project currently being planned for our neighborhood.

Our concern is not renewable energy itself, but the incompatible siting of utility-scale solar facilities within or adjacent to established residential communities. We support responsible solar development in appropriate locations while protecting existing homes, property owners, our rural landscape, and the quality of life of those who live here.
