Last night a zoom listening session was held by Madison Memorial students. Many students presented personal testimonials and read teammate statements on the effects of not being allowed to participate in high school sports. Many of the stories were heartbreaking. Sports is not "just a game" it teaches valuable life lessons, promotes good mental and physical health. These aren't kids who are whining an instead they desire to be heard, acknowledged and be part of change. I am so impressed, proud, and amazed by each and every student who presented. This was done in front of over 100 attendees, as the students invited the superintendent, coaches, board members, athletic director and news outlets. Not all could attend, but the invitation was presented. Please watch the informative video from WKOW which supports these students request.
