Ban micro beads in Ireland

Ban micro beads in Ireland
The Issue
We of the Environmental Society in the University College of Cork want to ban the use of micro beads in Ireland. Micro beads are little things companies add to our everyday products such as facial exfoliates and toothpastes that have been scientifically proven not to add any benefit to the use of said products.
These micro beads are far too small to be filtered and then end up in our oceans leading to damaging the marine Eco systems disrupting the oceans natural balance. These plastics then end up in fish which are eaten causing harm to not only the oceans health but our own physical health. They also end up in our own drinking water because our water waste treatment cannot filter them out.
Micro beads are currently banned in the UK, Canada and America.
Help us to forever ban these awful plastics and help mend our ecosystem.
