We agree that you must do all you can to ensure that when The Royal Military School of Music moves to Winchester that the Grade 2 Listed Building, Kneller Hall, with its large landscaped grounds, designated as Metropolitan Open Land, including The Bandstand, is used in a way that benefits the local community the most, and that this is a once in a lifetime unique opportunity for local residents. We all, problem solvers and petitioners, need to make sure that the history of the site and that the open tree-lined green lawns, are protected. Perhaps keep the Main Building as The Museum of Army Music and use the Bandstand for Concerts whilst promenading in The Grounds? Please ensure that the traditions of British Army Music (founded at Kneller Hall 1 March 1857) survive, surely the optimal option.
