Otley is a lovely place to reside and visit. We have a busy town centre, with a large number of schools, shops and recreational facilities and we would like to see the safety of pedestrians in Otley become a priority.

Unfortunately in recent years we are seeing an increase in traffic, (especially with extensive developments, more HGV's and an rise in traffic and population size) but not enough of an increase in provisions for pedestrians. We need to ensure that travelling through Otley via any method is easy and safe for everyone. We therefore ask you to join us to push local decision makers to revise road safety provisions across Otley. 

There are a number of specific places in Otley that need safer crossings, wider paths and/or speed restrictions, so residents and tourists can navigate our historic  town on foot safely. Sites for example such as crossing from Manor Garth Park across Bridge Street, desperately need pedestrian crossings. Ensuring clear signage and speed restrictions around all schools is also a priority. Much has already been achieved but we need to ensure safety of pedestrians throughout Otley is fulfilled
